The New Arrival!

Announcing our latest model . . . the newest addition is here !!!!!!

The Happy Family

We have a new addition to the family. Thumper, (her in the womb name because she continually thumped on her mom's bladder) arrived last night. Snortney started labor at 2 pm on Saturday and she delivered her at 6:06 p.m. Four hours and six minutes. WOW! I told Snort that next time she has a baby she better head to the hospital at first contraction. I can't believe how fast this baby came. She weighs 7 pounds and 5 ounces and is 20 inches long. She has quite a bit of brown hair and sucks her thumb.

She has a very healthy cry. She was not happy for the first few hours but seems content now.

She likes to sleep stretched out straight as a board. I think it is so cute. You'll have to email Snortney to find out her name. Snort doesn't want it published since my blog is not private. Rynie is spending the weekend with us and is doing pretty good. He is a little confused though and somewhat clingy. That's to be expected. I think she looks like her dad but Bud thinks she looks like a baby (they all look alike.)

Rynie what is that?

Uncle Jake

I am being brave posting this picture. This is from this morning with my bed head. Yuk.

Mama sure looks good!

The morning after, all cleaned up with a bow in my hair and nowhere to go.

Grandma holding her for the first time.

Some of the many men in her life. What a blessed little girl!

Grandpa looking proud.

Enjoy!

Family members who aren't sharing their blogs!

I guess I am going to have to do a public flogging but there are some family members who have marked their blogs private but haven't invited me to share! Shamey you!! Please invite me to view your blogs. I would love to see them. Not to name names (Dixie, Tiffany, Maggie, Nalene, etc., etc.)

By the way, Courtney has started her blog. She is like me - trying to figure out how to do this as we go along. Check out her link on my Family and Friends. Also invite her to your private and oh so secret blogs. I don't know how much she will get added since she is probably going to be having her baby girl this coming week.

Love to you all! Mel

Fashion Week - Milan Italy

I was just browsing through our pictures and realized that 2 years ago this same time (we celebrated Bud's Birthday there) Bud and I were in Milan, Italy. It just happened to be fashion week. As most of you know I am not as fashionista! I thought I would share a few pictures of how the worldly shop!

The Devil does wear Prada - I don't know who could afford this stuff. Certainly I don't know of anyone that rich!

Beautiful shoes that cost thousands upon thousands of dollars. I am not kidding either.

These handbags were also thousands of dollars! I saw a coin purse in Louis Vuitton for $800.00 I could not see what was so special about it. I guess I am just a simple farm girl!

Prada does not allow you to take a picture in their store but I snuck
one out anyway. And yes, people were purchasing these items!

This was the plaza where all these display cases and shops were.
It was quite a beautiful building.

Well back to my practical wardrobe!

Our New House in Scotland

A new neighborhood in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

Our new home!
This was actually the first house I saw online and the first house Bud looked at. He probably took 100 pictures of it so I would know what it looked like. He did a good job! It is in a new (two years old) subdivision of about ten homes. We feel really blessed to have found a home so easily. We heard horror stories from other expatriates of how hard it was for them to find a decent home. How lucky are we?

The back of the house.
The side you can't see is the same as the side you can see.

The kitchen/great room.
Yes great room. It is the longest kitchen ever. I don't know what i am going to do to fill it up.
I also like the Dalmatian inspired tile (not).

See the kitchen is really, really long!

See what I mean?

The balcony off one of the upstairs bedrooms.
This house has five bedrooms upstairs and four bathrooms. Three of the bedrooms have private bathrooms and two rooms share one bathroom. A lot of toilets to scrub.
Plenty of room for visitors!!!

The main floor of the house has a lounge (living room), formal dining room, kitchen/great room, study, bathroom, coat room, laundry room with another fridge and freezer, and garage. The fridge/freezers in Scottish kitchens are like dorm fridges. They shop for groceries everyday. This was one of the reasons we liked this home, also the washer and dryer were normal sized too. Scottish washer and dryers are so small that you have to wash small loads everyday to get your laundry done!

The back yard.

Behind our backyard is a little hill and if you look real hard you can see a walking trail. Beyond that is the River Dee. The River Dee is the south border of Aberdeen. The River Don is the north border of Aberdeen. The River Dee is famous in the United Kingdom for its Salmon Fishing.

Sonic's New Menu Item . . .

Bud and I were driving over to Snortney's house one Saturday morning and we had to take a picture of the newest offering from Sonic. Yummm!

A Blogging Disaster

So I have looked at our many nieces and nephews blogs . . . and my blog is so rookie-ish. I don't know what the heck I am doing and it drives me crazy. Of course when you only put in a few minutes here and there that might be the difference. Although that is really not true. I spent hours on the Florida blog - yes hours. I would accidentally delete pictures and then my computer froze, etc. When I previewed the blog it looked all lined up and in order but when it got posted it was all goofy. I have tried to fix it but it never lines up right. Ugh!!!!!!! Maybe there should be a mass of relatives who blog to descend on my house and hold my hand and tutor me. On second thought, a mass of relatives might be a bit much. Maybe I will hit Keri up one evening! Thanks for looking though and try not to make fun of the rookie! Love to you all. M
